Dear l'op, 0 9 9 Now being rested from my hectic gettogether with in 1 classmates of '51, I knew you woitld enjoy hear- ing about the marvelous time we had. VVe met at the Rock Garden , X Terrace in New York last Satur- day. Five years pass quickly, but V give time for a lot to happen. JUDY S'l'IZl 'HlINS and LUCY SEASE made the arrangements, since they are waitresses at the Terrace, ever faithful, still waiting for their doctoris to graduate. RICGGIIE PYIJYS tan told us that California is truly a sunshine state, but she is still rooting for U. Va. How proud we all were of DUFFY RINGSDQRF. She was looking won- derful in her VV. A. li. Uniform. Luckily she is home on furlough this month. AIETZIIZ SCOTT has turned into a regular capitalist. She now owns the factory which manufactures V. Nl. I. sweaters but can sit and loaf all day because 'IAN 'RUBIZRTS is her very effecient secretary. SUE SMITH is working there too, continuing to use her kindergarten training in the CHILD Labor Division. BARBIE S'I'RlTl1I has been measuring the cadets for their sweaters, but Etzie is thinking of replacing her since the customers think she would make a much better tobacco auctioneer. MARY ANN SIVfITl'l came running in a few hours late, per usual. She has been experimenting' ever since graduation and is sure now she has finallv found the fastest and easiest way to brush horses' teeth. She is going to sell this resulting prescription to ARKIIZ VVELLS, who is the horse doctor of the famous show horse farm, Sway llack Acresn, DURIS ENRIGHT is fulfilling her life long' ambition of being secretary. MONA DAVIS is still boasting proudly about Matilda, her nine-gaited mare who qualified for the Pennsylvania Derby. il' wonder if IIUTTFIRCUII' MAGEE has been over to the Sem lately. She is living in Lexington in a mansion called The T're-Fabu and is planning to send her children in the lfall to -IACKIIC l'lAlIMGARTI2N'S kindergarten, one of the best, since she parpares her star pupils for the Sem or VV. 81 L. Knowing CAROL lllCl.l- you probably would not be surprised to see her growing' a beard for the llroadway performance of KING LIZAR. Some of our other class mates are also gaining fame in the theatrical world. BOBBY STILL- MAN and IVIARCIIC DICVANY are entertaining troops over in Korea. ROI-!'llll I VVILSON was just bursting with enthusiasm. She just passed her entrance exam for Camp Pickett. She always knew she could do it if she tried! GINNY VOGIZL has at last succeeded in acquiring the southern accent, after her recent course under BIOANNIE AYSHFORD and SHIRLEY WEYRICK at Chapel Hill. A 6' Maid of the Mountains

IO XVESLER was unusually solicitous at lirst, making the rounds, asking us all how we felt in our old age , but we soon realized she was just trying to get a chance to prove she was a good nurse. Afterwards she had a very confidential talk with NANCY LEE ROBINSON, who is a very prosperous mortician. BEV BIERTUEMPFEL is in New York but could not get to the reunion because she was working overtime as Lord and T8j'lO1'i5 favorite doorman, hand- ing out invitations to a party at Normandy Beach. For some reason or other she is trying to get transferred to a store in Lexington. In a hucldle at one table were DONNA INGERSOLI., DIANE NOS- TRAND, and PAT ROGERS, all talking at once so it took us a little while to figure out what was going on. DONNA is now Mrs. Williaiii Green, you know, and is expecting him home on furlough this week. DIANE is also married and very happy with her darling children. PAT is the efficient one, supporting her husband, four children, two dogs, and being president of the largest woman's club on Long Island. As I move on around the room, I tripped over SHIRLEY l-IOFFMIRE doing her excercises on the floor instead of having dessert, She is getting in shape for the Miss America contest in Atlantic City next month. EDITH WAGONER had to leave early. NVhat a busy life a secretary has! Her Boss had called her to meet him for dinner and some extra dictation. ALTHEA PRATT and ANN PELLAND are both buyers for a dime store and had some interesting things to tell us. lt's amazing what you can't get for a dime! BETTY PECK was there too, now Mrs. Hop Hopkins and as cute and young-looking as she always was. CAROLYN MOBLEY went scooting around with her pencil and paper handy to jot down the news. She's now editor of the DAILY TRIISUNE and has several of our class working on the paper. ANDY Wll.SON writes the societv column. She always did have an ear for gossip, you remember! DIANE DURHAM is a foreign correspondent in the north woods of Wisconsin, where she lives with her husband and the trees. ELEANOR SCI-ILERNITZAUER is in town but couldn't come to the reunion. As Sports Editor she was out at Yankee Stadium writing up the big Jack tournament between BARBARA MAX- VVELIJS and LOU REEVES' kindergartens. IANIE KAHLENBERG has certainly made use of her merchandizing course at the Sem. She has just returned from South Africa, where she has had a mar- velous three years selling popsieles. I had been looking for JEAN MCGINLEY for hours, and finally found her on the terrace painting, or rather trying to get a bird to sit still and pose for her. Jean has made great progress in the artist's world. BRENDA TERHUNE is one of her favorite models, along with the birds. JANE LOYD has been dietitian at U. Va. this last year.
