enior ass Qnroplzecy Dear Pop, XVe have just completed our trip around the United States gathering news. of our classmates of 1950, and thought you would like to know what everyone has been doing. VVe left the airport at Montreal on May 25, 1955 and landed in Boston a few hours later. W'hi1c we were having lunch at the Statler, who should we see but Mary van Sand- ford and ,lohnny with their four children. Their children were adorable, and seemed extremely intelligentg but what can one expect after having graduated from ,foan Tit1ey's nursey school. We decided to run over to .loans and were happy to see that she had made such wonderful progress. lfler children were in such good health, which was a great tribute to her nurse, janet llell, who could do anything from removing splinters to appendix. XN'e spent the night in Boston and the next morning saw Donna Davis. She is married now and is very happy. She rushes home from work every night to fix her hus- band some dinner, but always ends up by calling Mary Van to come to the rescue when her cake falls through the oven or the soup boils over. Before long we were winging our way to Connecticut. VYe stopped in Hartford and while walking down the street we saw a huge sign saying Kel1er's Automatic Laundry. XM: went inside and saw Nancy Keller busily bending over a Bendix. She was working to send her five children to George School. VVe turned around and saw another familar figure with a big basket of laundry. lt was Nancy Amos, of all people. She told us that she was happily married and was one of Nancy's best customers as she had just had triplets. Georgia Medley is going to the University of Connecticut, but every weekend you will find her heading South. She told us that she plans to he married soon, but we coulr1n't hnd out who the lucky man would bc. That afternoon we boarded our Constellation bound for New York. Upon landing at l.a Guardia held we went straight to the NK'a1dorf. VVe were greeted by the VVa1dorf's tirst woman manager, jackie 1.udlam. 1Nhile talking to her we learned that Jackie's hus- band was the owner of the 11Yaldorf and had started a chain of hotels all over the world. She also told us that there were a group of Sem. girls having a good ole hen party in room 27, so we rushed upstairs. lt was so good to see everybody again. VVe had a gossip session just like the ones at the Sem. Nan Poole had married Bill soon after graduation and they were living in a peut house overlooking New York. Another Beta girl there was Diane Dixon. She had married Dick and they were having a wonderful time in New York. Nancy Ahl, who is president of the Killum Advertising agency soon joined the party. She had risen to fame by her great discovery of Ratso , the most effective mice killer known to man. Lou Shy, who's only grown one inch since we last saw her, is married to lid, and is the proud Mother of four boys. She has been busy training them to swim in the olympics. Leaving the XN'aldorf we ran into Nancy Heilman who was showing a friend from tfermany the sights of New York. 1'Ve stopped by Lord X 'l'ay1or's to chat with Barbara Palma who is top executive there. Through her guidance she has made Lord X 'l'aylor's the number one store in the world. Another person of high position in the merchandising world is Anna Mae Bloxham, She told us that she was leaving for Paris this week to sponsor a fashion show there. XVe heard that Marjorie Ammon, who has been traveling around the world for the past two years decided to get married. She says that traveling is fun, but there's nothing like a home and a husband, Loretta Marshall has always wanted to be a sozial worker and it didn't take her long to reach her ambition. As we came closer we saw someone who looked an awful lot like Galen Snell hanging bell bottom trousers on the clothes line. But of course Galen always did like boats. Wie soon landed in NVashington to refuel and we were surprised to see Joanne Culbert- son at the airport. She told us that she was married to a wonderful lieutenant in the Army, and had a little boy two years old. Lillian l7orbes is also living in NfX'ashington. Her husband is a famous lawyer and just recently was appointed to the Supreme court. liefore long we had left Xkashington in the distance and the familar Blue Ridge Mountains rose below ns. Looking out of the window we saw Anite Butler picking apples in her orchard, lt still looks as if nobody has been able to get her out of Virginia. Vile landed in Lexington and saw that it hadn't changed a bit in five years. As we were passing by V. N. l. we saw a familiar figure sitting in front of a little bungalow. As you can guess it was ,loy il-lardy. lt seems as if she just couldn't leave V. M. I. so she married that certain second classman who is now the Commander of V. M. I. We learned from ,loy that l'hyliss Topping had become a nurse at the V. M. l. hospital and had married one of the patients. That afternoon we went to a -concert by the V. M. l'. glee club.
