As I walk down the stairs leading from the JAGUAR '71 Office I must stop to take a good look around. A moment of sadness is felt as I realize that I am ending a phase of my life in which many moments of happiness and exhilaration were felt. The office is dark now. The final deadline hasbeen met. No more weekly meetings, no more click-click of the typewriter, no more late night sessions, no more missing of deadlines, no more cups of coffee to be poured, no more cigarettes to be lit, no more missing classes and social events, no courses to fail, no more arguments to be heard. Yes, it was a hard job that could never have been done without the help of many. With the co-operation and interest of others it could have been easier. This has been a year of many new experiences that I will nev- er forget, for it was a learning experience which will be helpful in later years. An acknowledgment to those persons who . helped to make our yearbook a success. Mrs. Vaughn, our faculty advisor, who was always around when needed. With her guiding hand and understanding nature, we were able to accomplish our goals. As a result of her warm and comforting mannerism, she be- came known as our Momma Thanks to y,,y, Mr. Moch, Director of Student Union, and Mr. F. Ransburg, Dean of Student Activities, who . ..... were always willing to help out so that things . l.'i s could run smoothly. Thanks to Lovella Mona Collins, Warren Everett, Carl Ellis, Jacqueline Osborne, and Jessie Bethly who I I never failed to show when the chips were .Ve Q. st 3. . .K down. Thanks to the section editors who met other jobs, and were willing to help out in other areas whenever needed. Thanks to non-staff members who help to shorten the late night session. Added thanks goes to Llyod Tiger LeBlanc, Publisher's Repre- sentative, whose advice helped smooth out the rough edges. To you the student body of Southern Uni- versity I present to You the JAGUAR '71 as we saw it. We, the staff, are only a few and un- derstand that everyone doesn't see every- thing the same, so, try to see it our way and next year add a helping hand and your view point. ,fx their deadline on time, although they worked Lydia Ann Ballard Editor-in-Chief JAGUAR '71 431
