It stresses the im- portance of Aquatics both to the individual and his fellow man and tries to improve the Aquatics program at Southern Ljnivershy. THE PRE-MEDICINE CLUB Pre-Medical Club was organ- ized in 1960 in honor of the late Dr. Raymond Baranco, a former Southern University physician. With approximately sixty pre- medical students, the objec- tive of the club is to promote a greater interest in the Medical Sciences. It also unites the medical students and stimu- lates them both scholastically, andsocially. THE ENGLISH CLUB The English Club was estab- lished for the purpose of stim- ulating and developing richer aesthetic values through the discussion and exchange of ideas and through the forma- tion of satisfying literacy acquahnances 281

RECREATKDN CLUB The aims of the U. U. R. S. are to unite in one organiza- tion, all recreational majors and minors on our campus and to encourage and pro- mote adequate programs of undergraduate professional workers. The purpose of this profession is to administer recreation as a public trust, so as to multiply opportuni- ties for happiness regardless ofage, race, sex, or creed. HOME ECONOMICS CLUB The purpose of the Home Eco- nomics Club is to give its mem- bers experience in parliamenta- ry procedures and to develop leadership ability. YMCA The aim of the YMCA is to ex- press the importance of the Christian way of life, both to the individual and to society. CIRU A Council on Inter Relations and United Nations Affairs is the organization for students inter- ested in international affairs and who wish to translate concern into concrete action.
