BRENDA BROWN EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Telephones ringing and typewriters clicking combined with the new changes and old memories help to form the finished product - our yearbook. It's a lot of work, but as the campus changes, the 1970 jaguar will help students remember how it was when they were here. The 7970 jaguar is a personal effort to get behind the massive institution called S. U. The staff focused its attention on the individual - what he stands for and his involvement. At this point, I would like to sincerely thank the staff members for accepting the responsibility and completing theirjobs. Lydia Ballard, Associate Editor did a fantastic job in helping to manage the staff plus organize her section. Melvin Doucette handled the financial aspects of the book and assisted Mary Howard - editor of the Administration Section, who reorganized the section and did a truly efficient job. An additional thanks goes to Melleretha Moses, Features Editor and Ora Danage, Classes Edi- tor who, respectively, worked in another office and had to attend track practice, found time to complete their section. Dedication is a quality that Louvella tMonaI Collins contributed to her section, Organizations. I would also like to extend gratitude to editors Mack Smith, Student Life, Francis Staten, Sports, and Frankie Whitaker, Creeks, who stood by their work and completed it when their helpers chickened out. Alzata Young and Vera Williams spent endless hours typing and secretary Thelma Brown eased tension by uttering some whimsicality. Our advisor Mrs. Doris Vaughn gave moral support, pushed the staff through business affiliations, and was at hand when she was needed the most. An expression of gratitude goes to our photographer, Mr. Herbert Provost and printer and those associated with American Publishing Company. This past year as editor has been a learning experience, one that I can truthfully say, I will never forget! Brenda j. Brown fEditor-in-Chiefl 259
