Students are frightened by the ina- bility of their elders to maintain global peace, disenchanted by the hypocrisy that nullified civil rights legislation, angered by the draft, and infuriated by their inability to effect change through the vote. In venting their resentment, they use, and sometimes abuse, the newer methods of protest that gained acceptance during the civil rights struggle. They still need and want the leadership of their elders, but are mad because the latter fail to understand or feign not to. Students fight for change because they have faith in this country. Society's true enemy is the cynic who has con- cluded that nothing can be done about the world and goes on to look exclu- sively after his own interests. ROCH L. MIRABEAU Dean, junior Division I believe from the student revolution will come: KD More revelant education for students 522 educational objectives that are the results of student, faculty, and administration decisions 632 a clearer recognition ofthe student as a force in the governance and management ofan educational institution. I think we black Americans need to fight more for the elimination of racial segregation and educational advancement rather than to occupy too much of our time with dress and hair styles which are temporary and ever changing. HEZEKIAHIACKSON Dean, College of Agriculture

The students in the College of Education impress me by showing a desire to improve themselves and to be- come excellent teachers.. I influence students who may have a desire to drop a course, to continue taking it, and in most cases the students progress. WILLIAM R. HICKS Dean, College of Education f I .3 imfff' l QT tx tj I have noticed a new sense of black pride and self confidence in most stu- dents that wasn't shown ten or fifteen years ago. Most students who graduat- ed from Southern University in past years were inferior and they were very shy to recruiters. Now they are confi- dent, self-assured and ask penetrating questions. LINCOLNI. HARRISON Dean, College of Business I do not feel that the black man has to find his identity. I do feel that the black man has to be recognized by other Americans. When this recogni- tion comes, and it will come, the black man will not be a black man but rather just a man. WARREN B. RHODES P.M.S. Military Science 172
