Alexander, Henry T. Asher, Dr. Marcus P. Blake- more, Paul Caine, Edward Irvin, and George W. Edmund founded Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in Bloomington, Indiana. Alpha Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was founded at Southern F ebruary 22, 1965. This chapter has perpetuated the noble doctrines of Kappa Alpha Psi, for the men of Alpha Sigma Chapter have played an instrumental part in the student life of Southern University for the past thirty years. Kyles On November 17, 1911, Dr. Ernest Just, Edgar Love, Frank Coleman, and Oscar Copper founded the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., at Howard University in Washington, D. C. On March 9, 1936, Beta Sigma Chapter of Southern University was founded. Our motto is 11F riendship is essential to the Soul? With this motto the founders also set forth our four cardinal principles by which all Omega men attempt to live: Manhood, Scholarship, Persever- ance and Uplift. ll 87
