Home Economics Club The purpose of the Home Economics Club is to give the members experience in parlia- mentary procedures and to de- velop leadership ability. Book and Candle Society The Book and Candle So- ciety has been on Southern UniversityTs campus since 1958. The club has grown and improved over the years. The members consist of Li- brary Science minors. The purposes of the organi- zation are: tD To contribute to the interest of the students minoring in Library Science. QT To instill in others the hunger for books both for in- formation and pleasure. CD To provide oppoxtunities for students to meet leaders in our field, and visit other 1i- braries in the area. The JFK Association of Southern University was orig- inated in honor of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. The Association functions as an instrument through which the members can bet- ter promote interest in cam- pus, local, state,.national and international poiitics; study the meaning and life of the 35th President and his con- tributions t0 the world; and acquaint its members with a knowledge of political parties and functions, so that they may become aware of their political and social needs. I.F.K. Association Female Glee Club The Southerh University Womenis Glee Club is one of the many ensembles of the Di- vision of Music. Its main pur- pose is to give young women both inside and outside of the division an opportunity to en- joy music as well as gain the experience of performing some of the world,s best music.
