The Omega Psi Phi F raternity Was founded on November 11, 1911 by four energetic and enthusiastic men. These men felt a need for or- ganizing the potential Negro leaders at Howard University under a com- mon band. With our motto 1Triendship is Essential To The SOUP, the found- ers set forth the four cardinal principles by which all Omega men live: Manhood, Scholarship, Perse- verance, and Uplift. On December 27, 1964 the mem- bers of Southern University in New Orleans were inducted into the Graduate Chapter, Rho Phi. .
