Basketball Team The Southern University Cagers known as the Hump- ing Jaguarst, are to be congratulated for their superior performance on the hardwood floor during the 1964-65 season. The team was off to a tremendous start, blasting the famous Grambling Tigers in the early season. This was the sweetest victory of the season for our talented cagers. Going on to defeat other conference powerhouses, the Jaguars won the Southwestern Athletic Conference Cham- pionship with a record of 12 and 2 in conference play and an overall record of 24 and 3. The team was then selected to represent District 3 in the NAIA Tournament held in Kansas City, Missouri. Victorious over Indiana Tech and East Montana, the team lost heartbreakingly to Oklahoma Baptist 65-64. Headlining our very talented team are All-American Robert Love, Ronald Hayes, Zebedee Ducree, Aaron Regan, Cleophus Banks, Charles Johnson and Samuel Butler. Hats off to the ttHardwood Kingshl. Robert Love receives a salute from Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. Richard ttTomlf' Jackson makes the presentation. 1064 Jaguar Cage Team challenges all who dare to face them. l27
