HONORS Alpha Kappa Mu Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society was founded in 1937 by Dr. George W. Oedies Williams Beta Beta Beta Biological Society seeks to encourage scholarly attainment, to cultivate intellectual interests in the natural sciences, and to promote a better appreciation of the values of biological study. Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology, was organized September 4, 1929, at the Ninth International Congress of Psychology held in New Haven, Connecticut. The purpose of this organization is to advance the science of psychology, and to encourage, stimulate, and maintain scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly psychology. The Southern University Chapter of Psi Chi was installed on May 26, 1961. IOI
