Southern Tech’s student body loves to be entertained. The year of 1987 had a deal to offer where entertainment was concerned. CAB (Campus Activities Board) worked very hard to provide a variety of entertainment. Whether you like country music, classical, or comedy there was something for everyone. CAB sponsored a talent show in winter quarter, in which students displayed their talents. Tim Johnson, who sung a gospel selection, was the winner of the talent show. One of the bigger acts to entertain Southern Tech was Byron Allen, former co-host of the t.v. show “Real People”. Byron had the student population rolling as he fired fast one liners. No student was safe from Byron’s wrath as he searched the audience for potential victims of saline. After hearing Byron perform, Southern Tech felt as though it had truly been entertained by a true comedian. Southern Tech was entertained by some great acts this year. Entertainment plays a very important part of a college student's life. In years to come, Southern Tech will hopefully be entertained by bigger and better acts but for now this year was a banner year. 1. Blue grass band performing in the student center. 2. Blue grass singer belting out a lyric. 3. Byron Allen joking with the audience. 4. Comedian Emcee, David Kenny performed at several functions this year. 5.
