DECEMBER -Rev. Page speaks in chapel exhorting us to a consistent life. -Beta Club induction. Three new members. Very impressive program pre- sented by honorary and active members. Off to hear Dr. Young. Bonfire and Pep rally gives boost to first basketball game. -S-C-O-R-E! First basketball game. High School Hares defeat College Terriers. -Rev. J. A. Grout very uniquely presents to us a message concerning our LIGHT. For thou wilt light my candle .... -Dr. W. L. Surbrook gives a message concerning our witness as we go home for the holidays. - Tis the season to be jolly. Christmas banquet in Olsen Hall. Delicious supper with all the trimmings. Singspiration-- The Twelve Days of Christ- mas. Skit- The Night Before Christmas. Caroling afterwards. Awonder- ful time. -Last daybefore vacation. Excellent program by speech class. True spirit of Christmas brought out by it. Students begin trips home for holidays. Merry Christmas! JANUARY -Eagerly come back to school after vacation. Sigh . . . -Missionary convention with Rev. M. L. Peterson and Rev. Fred W. Gibbs. -Midnight oil burned into wee hours of morning. Semester exams begin. -Clear slate as second semester begins. FEBRUARY -Be My Valentine! Valentine Banquet. -Spring revival with Rev. M. C. Kittle. -College Board Meeting. APRIL -Good-byes said as Seniors leave for Washington. -Easter Breakfast. Students scatter as spring vacation begins. -Everyone returning for last round. MAY - -J unior-Senior Banquet. 25--Last battle over exams. -Juniors and Seniors relive year during Class Night. -Baccalaureate sermon. Seniors challenged as they reach forward to other goals. -Speech recital. -The music recital--a grand and lovely occasion! JUNE -At last--the day looked forward to for so long. Sad but wonderful. Mixed emotions. Graduation day! S6

SEPTEMBER -Timid Freshmen, old friends and newcomers greet one another. Registration day completed with an evening of singspiration in chapel-- Smoke Goes up the Chimney. -Orientation day gives us an insight into coming days of study. College Freshmen take English test. Faculty-student reception in Olsen Hall gives a moment for breathing after first busy day. -Classes begin. -Improvement of parlor in boys' dorm. Inspiring message from Bruce Blow- ers, former student and presently missionary to New Guinea. -School revival begins with Rev. G. A. Castevens. Many victories during the meeting. -Battling Bears! Screeching Squirrels! School picnic at Guilford Battle- ground. Wonderful time. OCTOBER -Cast your vote for .... ! I shall endeavor to represent you! Student Council speeches and election. -Hold that! Pictures for annual taken. -Dr. B. H. Phaup speaks in chapel. -Harvest Ingathering. Excellent program, Through the Years. Delicious dinner. Inspirational afternoon service completes the day. -PresidentMiller speaks in chapel--stresses love and harmony among the students. 22--Male quartet leaves for West Virginia on this cold week-'end to represent our school. -Congressman Horace G. Kornegay speaks in chapel leaving three important words with us: PEACE, PREPAREDNESS, and PRAYER. 27--President Miller and Dean Birchall go to Chicago. Meet Board of Accreditation for College. Much prayer for them. -Look down there! Be careful! Three carloads of students go to Hanging Rock for a day of excitementg mountain climbing and picnicking. -Informed by Mr. Birchall of acceptance of Bible c o l le ge as an associate member of accredited colleges. We are proud of S.P.C. -Halloween night sees the gathering of S.P.C. students in the dining room for a spook meeting. NOVEMBER -Several students become vitally interested in English Literature. They go to see HAMLET at Wake Forest. -First Student Council meeting. Members concerned about school spirit. -Rev. Barney Pierce brings message in chapel concerning The Seed. High school and college receive first nine-weeks' grades. Must study a little more. -Students meet for Thanksgiving prayer meeting. Much for which to be thankful. -Happy Birthday to you! First Birthday supper. Special singing by the Chip- munks. -Thanksgiving party. Hilarious moments as students present skits represent- ing their states. Very enjoyable time. -Our hearts melt in thanksgiving as Speech Class presents program. Thanks- giving holidays begin. -Annual staff work in office. Take time for coffee and cookies. -Good altar service in chapel after inspiring message from Bobby Freeman. Attend service at Shady Grove church. ss
