In her spare-time she particularly enjoys dancing. On weekends you will probably find her in Allentown hav- ing a good time with her friends. She intends to seek some type of secretarial job upon graduation. 4? NEIL LEONARD SERFASS General Neil the menace of woodshop, is a very good-natured fellow. Neil is one of the most-skilled trouble- makers in the senior class and possessor of the Toni look. After school you will find Neil working hard on his father's dairy farm. Jan is interested in nursing activities and also loves to sketch and paint. When she has any spare time, she's usually found busily making a new skirt or blouse, Among her varied interests lies a talent for beauty culture. RUSSELL RICHARD SAMES, JR. Clerical Jokes, fun, and laughter .... That's Russ Sames. He has been an active member of the Soccer team and has won Varsity letters because of this. He has also played on the basketball team for two years. Russ, in his spare time, enjoys scouting activities, such as hiking and camping. His post-graduation plan is to enter the Air Force, in which, through much hard work and a lot of luck, he hopes to attain the position of mechanic. fm 11 . PATRICIA ANN SCHIN Liberal Academic Whenever you hear the cheer- leading squad, you can be certain that Pat is there urging the Spartans to victory. Pat is in many key ac- tivities in school. She's on the yearbook staff, co-editor, in fact, and Honor Society. She' s also ready for a roaring class discussion on anything at anytime. A slow smile and common sense are her trade- marks. Pat has made no definite plans for the future, yet! Q 1 55 rw 'O DAVID URIEL SCHMELTZLE Liberal Academic Dave seldom speaks more than is absolutely necessary, but when he does choose to open his mouth, it is usually profitable to listen. He will never let a friend down, and is a good guy to have along on any type of venture. Dave was our Senior co-captain of the soccer team. He enjoys all sports and is proficient in many. Dave may en- list in the Army after graduation, but he is not certain.

JOANNE ELOISE SHANKWEILER Academic Courage is evident in many ways, and Jo gets the purple heart for courage as exemplifiedin the fact that she was the first in this class to wear contact lenses. Her shy exterior betrays a deep interest in science fiction. There was a day when she considered ice skating the sport most likely to kill her, but as is typical of Joanne, she kept practicing, and likes it the most. She's also a senior member of the majorette squad. ICN 4 A ELAINE MAE SHELLY Secretarial Quiet?---only till you get to know her!! Our efficient class secretary can usually be seen dash- ing madly from one classroom to another just as the last bell rings. She is an outstandingathlete -- win- ning letters in both basketball and hockey. An accomplished musician, Elaine plays the piano, organ, and saxophone. Either he is eat- ing or working at his father's gas station. He is also busy remodel- ling a '32 Ford pick-up truck. When not doing that, he is eating. The future will find Joe swabbing the deck of one of the U. S. Navy's proud possessions.
