Because most of the players from last year's 10- 1 football team were back, the 1976 Rebels ran roughshod over the rest ofthe Bi-County. This year the Rebels went undefeated throughout the conference. In the playoffs. the Rebels marched to the quarter finals until they were upset by Princeville. For the second year in a row, the Rebels iinished among the final eight in the state. They scored a total of 1,409 points for an average of 61.3 points per game, and allowed 1,359 points for a defensive average of 59.1 points per game. As a team, the Rebels shot 43 per cent from the field and 60.1 per cent from the free throw line. Union is the only team in the Conference in which the Rebels did not win against. The Rebels finished the con- ference with a 9 and 5 record, placing third in the Bi- County Conference. Two school records were broken by Rod Phillips. He broke both the single game steal record with 10 and the season record of steals with 67. Jay Blender was selected on the all Bi-County Conference First Team and was also picked on the KBUR All-Area Team.
