that I have met, Yet all experience is an arch wherethro, F learns that untravellcl world whose margin fades For ever and for ever when I move. Three thousand years ago the blind poet, Homer, created a hero whose story has since been sung by authors of many lands. Known to the Greeks as Odysseus and to the Romans as Ulysses, Odysseus epitomizes the man admired by the world for the way in which he, with single-mindedness of purpose and resourcefulness, uses his strength, courage, and knowledge to succeed where others may fail. Mr. Knight, too, has purposefully and resourcefully used his knowledge and courage in building the best possible high school for our community. With construction of new facilities, institution of new courses of study and new methods of teach- ing, Mr. Knight has, in the nineteen years of Southern High School's existence, directed the building of a school dedicated to providing a high quality education for its students. lt, therefore, seems fitting to us, the Annual Staff of 1970, that the new Odyssey' shall be a special dedication to an out- standing educator, our first principal, Mr. T. T. Knight. . . . that which we are, we are One equal temper of heroic hearts . . . strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yielclf, Ulysses-Alfred Lord Tennyson
