A welcome addition to the Southern scene this year was the revival of the Southern Horizons - a four-page publication covering school news, features, sports and an editorial section. Created from the original writings of some of the magazine members, and the student body, and edited and supported by a senior Advanced English class, the Literary Magazine brought to Southern's attention, the talent that exists among its students. Student Council Members meet in the cafeteria Mr. Heim -Advisor Southem's Student Council has yielded to the atmosphere of change that has affected Southern this year. Besides the Student Council's traditional duties of preparation of Homecoming ceremonies and dance, and the point systemg' the group has become a more active participant in the Regional Student Council promoting such measures as overtime pay for county coaches. Among the new accomplishments within the Southern Student Council, have been the revision of the Student Council Constituton and the participation of Student Council officers in the PTA executive and general meetings. The Student Council of Southern Senior High School has strived to make our student government a more active and efficient organization. Student Council President Debbie Susano
