Just as the school has met changes this year with progress and modernization, so has it been with the Echoes Statf. Perhaps the most evident change in the year- book is the enlarged size - from a 8 X ll to a 9 X l2 . Also, if you have not yet noticed - close your yearbook for a moment ibut keep your place with your fingerj, and look at the spine of the yearbook. For the convenience of possessors of a '69 Echoes, you will End the year and title of the yearbook. The readefs convenience has also been considered with the addition of an index. The student life section of the book is printed for the first time on a specially textured and tinted paper known as Contempore. This year, the Echoes staff has tried to achieve realistic memories. Candids of everyday and special events were used in place of the numerous posed pictures. Another attempt to modernize the yearbook can be found in the advertising section. Throughout the ad section, scenes of the contributing advertisers' establishments appear. Yes, the yearbook staff has experienced and suffered through the production of Echoes '69, just as every yearbook stall' does. There were lost pictures, mistakes to be corrected, and hectic deadlines to meet, yet they enjoyed every whirling minute of it. For the Stat? of 1969 has realized the purpose of Echoes '69 - to present to you, the student body and faculty of Southern Senior High School, a distinctive journal of memories of the exciting and challenging l968-69 school year.
