LACROSSE X Surprising the other, La- crosse teams in the country, 'Southern's stickmen were ready for county competition this spring. A totally new sport to this end of the county, La- crosse will provide enthusiastic Southern spectators with a refreshing pastime.

.f ir f 1 The 1968 Southern Bulldogs showed excellent teamwork in posting an overall 9-4 record, which included seven straight league victories. The team was co-champion in Anne Arundel County with Andover and Brooklyn Park. Many players contributed to the successful record. George Nutwell and Bill Redman were named to the All-County team, while Wayne Neal, Rick Hopkins, Jerry Kuhlman, Lorenzo Thompson, Willie Wilde, Frank Moulden and Charles Foote also played an important part in Southern's championship year. Garry Jones and Ron Beall were the unsung heroes for the Bulldogs. PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES Southern's physical education department olfers instruction in the familiar activities of basketball, baseball and volleyball. It also conducts an after school intramural program and provides students with an opportunity to learn such varied activities as square dancing and gymnastics. 124 7777 7
