The 1968-69 Varsity Wrestling Team was successful with a 9-0 record, while tying only one match. In addition to this excellent record, Southern's wrestling team was named Anne Arundel County Champions, an honor which they not only deserve, but also worked very hard to achieve. This great triumph was brought about under the supervision of Mr. Al Hunt. This honor and great record would not have been possible without the long, hard hours which were put in after school by the team and Mr. Hunt. I love how you hold me! Wilde on the move! Ask any member of the 1968-69 basketball team, and they can tell you what change is. For Southern's basketball team has improved in comparison to past seasons. Displaying a 7-7 record, Southern's Bulldogs placed fourth in the county league. Among our outstanding athletes, Southern is proud to recognize senior Joe Wilde? captain of the basketball team this year. In recognition of this aspiring athlete, note should be made of his selection to the All-County Basketball Team for the second year. With 997 varsity scoring points, and his achievement as a basketball player, Joe was named Most Valuable Player for the year 1968-69. The Bulldogs move in for the rebound.
