uniord l l The Junior Class officers are Brenda McGee, TREASURER, Tommy Lilly, VICE- PRESIDENT, Jo Carolyn Mann, SECRETARY, Donald Haith, PRESIDENT, and Louise Williams, REPORTER. ln '60 we iuniors began the new experience of being upperclassmen. Perhaps this has been the best year of all--we now have a real place at Southern, but as yet don't have to leave it behind. The necessity at studying gained new significance as we began to master our charted courses and plod through such new subiects as French l, geometry, and U.S. History. We recall the excitement of being measured for our class rings, a sure sign of our rising seniority. From our own number we had to find the person most capable of being our new student council president. The work and responsibility of the Junior-Senior seemed tar behind us when we saw the Southern High School lobby transformed into a tropical paradise. With these memories, we leave our iunior year behind, striving for a higher place onthe ladder of education. l70l We are grateful to Mr. Syme, our Junior Class sponsor, for his guidance throughout this year.
