At the right Willie Lou Lynn displays her proiect which shows practical applications of geometric figures. Seeking to explain the magic of num- bers, the mathematics department offers many courses. All Freshmen are required to further their basic knowledge by taking general math or to enter a world of equations by taking Algebra I. College preparatory students com- plete their education in numbers with plane geometry, which deals with pro- perties and relations of plane figures, Algebra ll, and Algebra lll. Future engineers also take solid geometry and trigonometry. Usually in coniunction with the commercial subiects, students take business math. For those who have not mastered enough of the essentials of mathematics by the end of their junior year, there is a senior general math class.
