Jo Carolyn Mann and Mr. Sam Syme, sponsor, do some last minute sweeping. The big night! South- erners, dressed to the hilt, watch the dancers while they take a breather. Southerners danced unc the stars to the tune of Ru Olsen and his orchestra at t Junior-Senior Prom. Southern gals made the most of the opportunity and asked their favorite guys to the Twirp Dance. The theme was 'Little Abner, and the decorations were life-sized characters right out of Dogpatch: Marrin' Sam, Little Abner, Daisy Mae, Lonesome Polecat, Hairless Joe, and many other characters de- corated the walls. Southerners were married by Marrin' Sam, aptly por- trayed by Dick Fenton, and refresh- ments were no less than the famed Kickapoo Juice made by Hairless Joe and Lonesome Polecat. f 'ig One ofthe highlights of our year was the Valentine Dance. The theme of the dance was Queen ofHearts , and the decorations were gigantic playing cards and red, pink, and white valentines of all shapes and sizes. Rebels danced to popular music that had been previously taped. The evening was climaxed with the crowning of the Queen Benny Elliott. he
