I Mrs. Willie Boone, former sponsor, re- gisters delegates of the North Carolina Stu- dent Council Congress and assigns them housing as they arrive at Southern. COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN: SEATED: Tanya Upchurch, Scrap- book, Jo Carolyn Mann, Student Welfare, Brenda McGee, Donna Fagg, Publicity. STANDING: L.M. Draper, House and Grounds, Eddie Tice, Finance, Sarah Auman, Calendar and Bulletin Boards, Jane Maxwell, Point System, Ken Stallings, Elections, Bennie Elliot, Assembly. STANDING: L.M. Draper, SER- GEANT-AT-ARMS, Kenneth Stall- ings, VICE-PRESlDENT,and Eddie Tice, TREASURER. .S?uJenI The i959-60 Student Coun cil began its activities in tht summer with plans for thi North Carolina Student Counci Congress, which was to bf held at Southern in October I-lousing, guides, registration meals, stage decorations, ani general planning were left ui to the Southern Student Council From the reports ot thosf attending, the three-day con vention was very successful. Student directories wen sold in the late tall, greatl' improved by the use ot bette printing materials and cover. The main money making project was a chocolate sell The general response was sf gratifying that the counci plans to make it an annua event.

And Then There was Jane Max- well, who would occasionally pick up a pencil and write copy. Jane Silver, Carolyn Randall, and Alice Shipp worked laTe inTo The nighT slaving over Their secTions. Linda Perry and Wayne Davis were unique in Their field. NOT everyone can Take a picTure standing on his head. Of course Linda and Wayne found it diffi- culT To do, standing upright. Hallie Garrard became unbearable To live wiTh after she sTarTed carrying around all The money ThaT BeTsy Andrews and l32uTh DaughTry broughT in. We shall never forget These people and many more who helped publish our annual. Editor Jon Jones and Business Manager Hallie Garrard confer on the financial situation of the annual.
