Mr. Willard Hawkins has been superintendent of Garrett County Schools for ten years. Prior to coming to our county, he had served as prin- cipal of Bel Air and Cambridge High Schools. He has been President of the Maryland Associa- tion of Secondary School Principals and Pre- sident of Maryland School Superintendent Asso- ciation. His honorsincludea John Hay's Fellow- ship to Colorado College and a special scholar- ship te Harvard College. Just this past year, he was one of seventy-nineschool administrators chosen throughout the United States to participate in a six week tour and study of the Swedish school system. Mr. Albert Ringer received his A. B. Degree from Fairmont State Teachers College and his Masters Degree from West Virginia University. He came to Southern in 1955 after teaching a short time in North- ern High School. He studied Russian and German in the United States Army Language School in California. Mr. Ringer took the position as Director of Instruction of the Garrett County School in the fall of 1960.
