Our class elections were held and we elected Barbara Rice, president, Bob Leighton, vice president, Kathryn Blizzard, secretary and Sue Martin, treasurer. They planned our seventh grade picnic, remember what fun it was? We were glad when Sept. came and once again we started sharing another year of our life. Elections were held and as president and vice president we elected Barbara Rice and Bob Leighton, Eleanor Vetter and Joy Leeas secretary and treasurer. We held our Shamrock Dance and we crowned Warren Coker and Barbara George, Shamrock king and queen. For the climax of our eighth grade, we had a party in the cafeteria. Our freshman year----elections once again and this time we elected Warren Coker, president, Dorothy Peck, vice president, Eleanor Vetter, secretary, and Linda Teets, treas- urer. Kathryn Mosser was head cheerleader and we cheered for our Jr. High Team. April Seventeenth was our class party, our theme was Sail Along Silvery Moon and Dorothy Peck and Warren Coker were chosen class queen and king. Another year passed. Our sophomore class officers were Barry Sanders, Joy Lee, Eleanor Vetter and Shirley Warren. This was the year Vicki Carlson, Jerry DeSimone, Barbara Rice, Mike Cook and Dennis Sanders were chosen to go to the United Nations. We held our class party. It was Apple Blossom Time and everyone was blooming with happi- ness. ; Our junior year was here. We conducted class elections and Barbara George, Joe Lee, Eleanor Vetter, and Shirley Warren served as our officers. Winter came and so did the snow, we even attended school on Sat. Each of us will remember our first prom and the Enchanted Sea . We entered the doors of Southern in September 1960, realizing that this was the concluding act of our life together. Our class elections were held and we elected Ron Cloaw, Barry San- ders, Kitty Blizzard, and Shirley Warren, our class officers. For the past six years, Southern has been our second home. We, the graduating class of 1961, would like to say, THANK YOU to the faculty and administration, to the students and to the community, for our Years Gone By.
