With great honour and appreciation, we. the class of 1976, dedicate our yearbook, the Chieftain, to Mr. John Elbin. Mr. Elbin graduated from Southern Fulton in 1948 and received his degree from Millersville State College in 1952. He then served as an academic instructor in the Air Force until 1955. Mr. Elbin began his teaching career at Newport. Pa., where he taught one year before coming to Southern Fulton in 1956. For 12 years Mr. Elbin was our baseball coach until 1973. His Athletic Banquet speeches will always be remembered. Mr. Elbin’s words of advice are: “Be yourself, don’t pattern yourself after someone else. Don’t try to be something you’re not.” 3
