During that year, the class raised funds by having a dance with a candy sale in activity period and selling S.F.H.S. banners. That fall the class participated in an educational field trip to McConnellsburg Courthouse to watch court in session. Our advisors for the year were Miss Joanne Gum and Mr. John Ritz. During our sophomore year, our advisors were Mrs. Anna Maye Sigel. Mrs. Carole Palmer, and Mrs. Dotti Akers. Our activ- ities were a field trip to Washington, D.C., the selling of Flair pens, the selling of candy and pollywogs and our class play, “Nice to Have Known You.” Mrs. Erma Anderson, Mr. Eugene Coldsmith, Mr. Ronald Kemerer, and Mr. John Elbin assisted us through our junior year. Our projects were the selling of Stanley Products, holding a skating party and participating in the Junior-Senior play, “Des- perate Ambrose”. The Business Education class went on a field trip to Washington, D.C. to see the ICC Building and Strayer College. Our prom was, Elysian Odyssey. With forty-eight students remaining in our class, we entered our senior year. Mrs. Swaneda Yost, Mrs. Alda Lashley, Mr. George Crouse, and Mr. Wayne Bard helped us to achieve our goal, a class trip to New York City. Our projects were the selling of magazines, the selling of Easter candy, the selling of candy at basketball games, the selling of the CHIEFTAIN, and the selling of tickets to skating parties. Our other Junior-Senior play was ‘The Great Big Door Step.” We had a Spring Dance featuring the Heart. 20 CLASS WILLS Lois Barnhart Dotti Barton Joan Barton Cordelia Carson Karen Chesnut Daniel Clark Linda Clark Paul Deshong Dave Dombrowsky Kay Fogal Bev Garland Dolly Golden Tommy Golden Jenny Golden Junior Hess Adonna Hill Ellen Hill Richard Hixson Darce Keefer Gloria Kerns Judy Leese Darlene McCusker Mike McKeever Donna Mellott Leon Mellott Lynn Mellott Rhonda Mellott Leonard Morris Carol Pittman Cindy Pittman Kenny Pittman Marian Plessinger Henry Powell Lois Schriever Marlin Schriever Bill Shaw Ann Simpson Dianne Stahie Gail Stahie Kenny Steach Alvin Strait Bill Strait Jean Strait Betty Swope Randy Ward Ed Whiteside My basketball skills to my good “buddie”, Dartanion. 1 will my Z-28 to the old folk’s home. Mr. John Elbin, coach, says that he expects the 1972 team to be more su- perior because the 1971 team was composed mostly of un- derclassmen.
