IN MEMORY Mr. Gordon Charlton received his training in the field of education at Shippens- burg State Teachers College. After teaching for a number of years at Wilmore, Pennsylvania, he became principal and later supervising principal of the schools in that area. Mr. Charlton came to Warfordsburg in 1942. Here he served as science instructor and high school principal. In 1954 he was elected supervising principal of the Southern Fulton Schools; he held this position until his retirement in July, 1962. On August 14, 1962 he suf- fered a fatal heart attack. Mr. Charlton diligently worked for the personal improvement of his students and for the advancement of the schools in the district. He gained the admiration and re- spect of everyone who knew him and those who were associated with him are acutely aware of their loss. 4
