ner-city teaching. Under his leadership, SCSC was a pioneer in educational tele- vision. It also was one of the first to de- velop multi-media instruction, a system which presents an instructor with elec- tronic access to a variety of audio-visual devices while he is lecturing to a class. SCSC also has been a leader in offering specialized programs for teaching the disadvantaged. Born in Waverly, N.Y., President Bu- ley received a B.5. degree from Hobart College, a M.A. degree from Cornell Uniersity, and a doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University. In 1963, he was awarded an honorary doctor's degree by Hobart. He served as a teacher in Brewster, 20 N.Y., and Milwaukee, as a principal in New York state, and as a superintendent in New York and New jersey. He was State Commissioner of Education in New Hampshire from 1948 to 1954, immedi- ately prior to assuming the SCSC presi- dency. During his 43 years as a teacher and administrator, President Buley has earned many honors including an AACU citation for educational television leader- ship, the New Hampshire VFW Award for outstanding contributions to citizen- ship education, a distinguished service award from the New Hampshire Educa- tion Association, and the Jackson Labpr- atory Association Award for Cancer Re- search. He is serving as 1969-1970 president
