FRED Srovvmns Hluittle Freddie College Park, Ca. 4'Little Freddie as he is known to his colleagues, is a quiet fellow with a dry wit. He keeps the class in an uproar with his humorous remarks. Freddie is one of the many whose education was interrupted by the war. He was in the Army three and a half years, serving three years overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines. May success he Frecl's reward. THELMA THATCH Knoxville, Tenn. '4B.rownie,7 was responsible for much of the fun that we knew at Southern. Known and liked hy the whole school, her wit relieved many a dull day. 15

SENICDRS JAMES TATUM SLAUCHTER Little Jimmy 44-2 Hopkins St., Atlanta, Ga. Little Jimmy in this case applies not to physical stature but to age. This youngster is a big, robust fellow packed full of fun. In spite of all this fun he must have found time for his studies. The results he obtained in his work is evidence to convince us that his ambitions are big. Business Manager Spatula lg Chairman Recreation GRADY SMITH Marietta, Ga. Grady has been with us since 1938 with the exception of time in the Army. He has been a special student since and has had a tough time getting schedules to work out. But he has succeeded and is taking the final step toward becoming a registered pill roller. We wish him much success. Committee 1. WARREN Y. SMITH 'iSmitty,' Jesup, Ga. Warren is a carefree, happy-go-lucky fellow, who still finds time for his studies and his store in .lesup Kon week- ends, etc.j He is doing more than his share to uphold the standards of our profession. Warren is a graduate of Mars Hill Junior 'College and a year at Oklahoma Baptist University. A veteran of three years in the Army Air Corps, he flew fifty-two missions over Italy. With a record like this already, only success can be his goal. 14

SENIORS MARY JEAN THOMPSON Folkston, Ca. .lean entered college with us very quietly in 1943. She has so many fine qualities that it is difficult to pick out one to talk about. She is a very pertinaoious person and we feel that in the years to come her rewards will be many. Associate Editor Spatula 13 Class Treasurer 1. SELIVIAN LAMAR THREADGILL, J R. - A Decatur, Ca. Selman came to Southern in '45 just after leaving the 'li, Navy. He has been an irregular student ever since 1 because he has credits from Auburn and Emory. After many trials and tribulations, he is graduating and we wish him all the luck in the world out in Decatur. Editor COSMAS 1948. ROBERT HENRY WEAVER Lake Wales, Fla.
