Calvin's favorite pastime is sleeping during lectures, but his excellent grades will not reveal this. His ability and desire to learn will aid him in the future. CARSON ' 77 Stella Madison, Ca. Stella is a jolly, witty, and carefree young lady who seems to have no worries. But behind this atmosphere of gaiety there lies a will to do. Pharmacy is her chosen profession and she intends to uphold its traditions. To Stella, our little taker of kidding, we wish the best of luck and may success be hers in all that she undertakes. Charlie is a very hurnerous Hspeciala' who wanders around the halls and classrooms with an air of non- chalance. This veteran of three and one half years in the Navy, serving at 'Okinawa and le Shima, has also found time to hang up a fine record at Southern. Mary Anne came to S. C. P. from the University of Georgia, and was quickly accepted into the fold. Pinky was graduated from Emory University with a BS. in Biology, served in the Navy, entered Southern and immediately became one of the most popular students. His neighbors and friends in Quitman, will appreciate his ready wit and scholastic ability as much as we all have. 12 3' 'R SENICDRS BERTIE WILBURN HARPER, JR. - 6'Dirty Bertie Homerville, Ga. Although he is known as Dirty Bertie it does not signify his true personality. He is anything but dirty, being the Romeo of the class. He is alwayshseen petting with the girls and Dr. Meyers. He attended Georgia State Woman's College for one year and if his success in Pharmacy is one-half as good, Bertie will be HENRY A. KING Clarksville, Ga. King is the fellow, we will long remember as the one who worried more about final exams and the State Board than all the rest oi the class put together. Henry is one of the most aggressive and energetic students and with his determination and sincerity, he is sure to go far in the profession of Pharmacy. There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great and no tonic so powerful as expectations of something better tomorrow. This is Billy. Knowing that wisdom will not open her doors to those who are not willing to pay the price intself-sacrifice, and hard work, we realize that his knowledge exceeds many. No matter where you go, Bill, we feel that success will he yours. Bill entered S. C. P. in 'll-2 but was called to the Navy and served two years. 13 SENICDRS JAMES TATUM SLAUCHTER Little Jimmy 44-2 Hopkins St., Atlanta, Ga. Little Jimmy in this case applies not to physical stature but to age. This youngster is a big, robust fellow packed full of fun. In spite of all this fun he must have found time for his studies. The results he obtained in his work is evidence to convince us that his ambitions are big. Business Manager Spatula lg Chairman Recreation GRADY SMITH Marietta, Ga. Grady has been with us since 1938 with the exception of time in the Army. He has been a special student since and has had a tough time getting schedules to work out. But he has succeeded and is taking the final step toward becoming a registered pill roller. We wish him much success. Committee 1. WARREN Y. SMITH 'iSmitty,' Jesup, Ga. Warren is a carefree, happy-go-lucky fellow, who still finds time for his studies and his store in .lesup Kon week- ends, etc.j He is doing more than his share to uphold the standards of our profession. Warren is a graduate of Mars Hill Junior 'College and a year at Oklahoma Baptist University. A veteran of three years in the Army Air Corps, he flew fifty-two missions over Italy. With a record like this already, only success can be his goal. 14 SENICDRS J UNE SNODDY Karrat E Sparta, Tenn. June entered Southern at the beginning of her Sopho- more year from the University of Tennessee. After being with her for these three short years we believe that she has the grit and tenacity to match her dreams with realities. A. Ph. A. Secretary 3. FRED Srovvmns Hluittle Freddie College Park, Ca. 4'Little Freddie as he is known to his colleagues, is a quiet fellow with a dry wit. He keeps the class in an uproar with his humorous remarks. Freddie is one of the many whose education was interrupted by the war. He was in the Army three and a half years, serving three years overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines. May success he Frecl's reward. THELMA THATCH Knoxville, Tenn. '4B.rownie,7 was responsible for much of the fun that we knew at Southern. Known and liked hy the whole school, her wit relieved many a dull day. 15 SENIORS MARY JEAN THOMPSON Folkston, Ca. .lean entered college with us very quietly in 1943. She has so many fine qualities that it is difficult to pick out one to talk about. She is a very pertinaoious person and we feel that in the years to come her rewards will be many. He has been an irregular student ever since 1 because he has credits from Auburn and Emory. Such wit!!- and a pharmacist too!! After entering Southern as a World War II vet, he was readily accepted by the class with his winning personality. 17 SENIORS WILLIAM BEVERLY WYNN Augusta, Ga. Billy will be missed very much around ole S. C. P. Entering in 1938 he seems a permanent student. Billy l1HS1l,t spent all this time repeating courses though. He served three and a half years in the Navy as a Chief Pharmacistis Mate, on Iwo Jima, Okinawa and other scenic spots in the blue Pacific. It is made up largely of men who have been in the drug business for many years, and who upon declaration of war, enlisted, and did their part. Their objective now is to do all that is in their power towards the advancement of the college and the profession of pharmacy.
