PRESLEY J •• v J 4 To Command Sergeant Major, William M. Presley, soldier, teacher, and friend to every cadet; respected by all; loved by everyone; known for his sincere dedication, his soldierly example and his compassionate understan- ing-this 1930 CADET is respectfully dedicated. -- Sergeant Major Presley has served SCMA for 5 years as assistant commandant. His every day demonstration of those soldierly qualities of bearing, dependability, enthusiasm, knowledge, tact, unselfishness and loyalty have been an inspiration to cadets faculty and staff alike. Before coming to SCMA, Sergeant Major served with great distinction in the United States Army for 30 years where he won every medal, except one, that our country con give. A true combat soldier, he served our highest Commander well. In recognition of his outstanding service to the Army, he was nominated for the position of Command Sergeant Major of the entire United States Army. We salute you. Sergeant Major Presley, for being always fair, compassionate and understanding. You will always have a worm place in our hearts. DAWN OF A DECADE so I ' ► ; I I ,av II! .:■. ., GEORGE V. HURTE SUPERINTENDENT Superintendents Message Much has taken place over the past year that has mode an impact on us as a nation as a state as a school and as individuals. I am proud to be a part of SCMA and I am proud of the cadets who make up our student body. I am also proud of our dedicated faculty and staff who give unselfishly of their time to help make SCMA the unique school that it is. I know I speak fot all our staff when I say that it is an honor and privilege to have a part in shaping the lives of young men who will one day be tesponsible for the state of our nation. I trust that you. the cadets will face the future with confidence remembering the lessons leatned at SCMA and knowing that God will give you wisdom and guidance if you trust Him for it. PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE Our country is in need of men of God, men with sturdy spirits, disciplined minds and bodies, willing hearts, to do God ' s work here on earth. Each of you has become one year closer to being that man. I congratulate each of you on a job well done and am confident that through God ' s love and guidance your suc- cesses will cotiiinue. t-k Lenord A. Sroren Prinapal Mono £ Hurre Vice-Principol Commondonrs Message Leadership is the art of getting others to do willingly what they must do. At SCMA we pride ourselves in three areas: Followship, Fellowship and Leadership. Natural born leaders are tare indeed, if they exist at all. Instead, by practicing the correct methods from the piinciples of leadership and main- taining the recognized traits of a leadei. most people can indeed become leaders and like the arts, ptactice makes perfect.
