To prepare music for each Dress Parade and other on campus activities as well as civic functions takes many hours of preparation. Major Hirning has done ex- ceptionally well in all these areas and has given unselfishly of his time and talent to enrich the lives of cadets, parents, and staff of SCMA. The 1972 edition of the cadet is dedicated to two of SCMA's family, who although are often behind the scenes, are always on hand to provide music and inspiration wherever they go. Our Cadet Corps indeed has been the finest I .... n many years. lt is the largest in number but is also the best in the many areas of Academy life, and the spiritual growth and desire of the cadets has been a real encouragement. is year 1972 will long be remembered as an exceptional year The reasons for this We are also very pleased with our faculty and staff. There are many good schools but few that have the dedication, love and realization that it is a God-given honor and responsibility to have a part in molding young lives. George V. To construct a building there must be a solid foundation. To mold a life it is essential there is a solid foundation and a good beginning. Jesus speaks of this foundation: All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. iThe Living Biblel This foundation includes a personal relationship with God. In addition to the regular Bible classes, Chapel Services provide worship experiences for the Cadets, Faculty and Staff. In a worship experience, one realizes God's Great Love for Him, and the person responds in expressing his love for God. A right relationship with God will result in right relationships with one another. . IIT T , was 1 A ti Lt rf'-. -, . They sang during the Christmas season as guests of the Downtown Exchange Club, and performed at selective Chapel Dress Parades. Also they were featured at Parents Night and the Award Assembly. These cadets are to be congratulated upon their willingness to give up their noon recesses, in order to rehearse for the various events, and for that short time, are exceptionally fine singers, and have done a good job. gn ,., iff-, rel' Vid 549: +i'l'c,, X , y Q F ,g l z, ' ' 4 ' Nr ,,l, . 1. l 3 K l it . 1 M I ffl .df i if 1 ' I A, . .' -v9 'Q l 5' 1 Q 2' 4 ' 7 . , ' W e 4 1 . Acts 20:35 Most authorities agree that juvenile delinquency springs from parental delinquency, parental delinquency during those all important formative years of our chiIdren. We are sure that you do your utmost to provide material things for your children, you give the best in housing, clothing, education and physical needs, but these things are not really important, are they? Riches do not bring happiness! lt is what you give of yourself and demonstrate to your children that you really care, that you are willing to give of yourself for his welfare and future, that is what counts. Give of yourself now and you will reap unbelievable benefits as your children grow up. He will be so glad that Mom or Dad also belong and also care. That is what your Parents Association is all about. lt tries to give, give to the betterment of our children and our school. ls it not sad that each year only approximately 3006 of the parents belong to the Parents Association? Can you understand it? lf you have no time for him now, he will not have time for you later. Do you belong to the 300fo, the ones who show that they care, not just say they care?
