I said to one who had sailed the sea That this was a marvel unto me For how can the ships go safely forth Some to the south and some to the north? The sailor smiled as he answered me Go where you will when you're on the sea It will not matter what winds prevail For all depends on the set of the sail. 1Y4.YiI'ws1:aa:'!' Nucl? ti -59-'lf During the junior high school years Cadets awaken, hopefully, to a new idea: I am a person. To help young men at this period to understand and ful- fill themselves, Chapel services reflect and teach Christian values and the im- portance of a personal commitment to Christ's way. Young men are some- times concerned over whether they will bomb out in life. To Counsel them in this concern, Cadets are told of God: a friend, who is never too busy, too anxious, nor too angry to listen, one who can be a source of strength, a power, and compassion. I v I 1 W: L , f r ,. H Y S' a I I KU ,y Dvha, ' psf -SX . Chapel, an important part of school life, is held each week for three sep- arate groups. Mr. Vanlandingham con- ducted the Jr. High services, Mrs. Bubna, Mrs. Morse and Capt. Williams conducted the junior services. Be- sides the singing, Bible stories, and talks, Cadets as well as the Faculty and Staff, have an opportunity to take part. , 1 s Q ll-14, .. ,, 1 4 XJ f ' 54' fy the f .. It is our purpose that each cadet learns to navigate the Sea of Life. Winds and currents may not always be to our pleasing or plan. We trust they will not be tossed about, blown off course, or overcome by circumstances. Instead, we pray, they will learn to deal with each circumstance and turn each experience into gain. The 1971 Cadet is the result of many hours of hard work. lvly special thanks to Ron Hurte, for his assistance in over-seeing the book. Also, thanks to the Cadet staff qpictured on page 138i We hope you will enjoy this edition of the Cadet and in reading it in the years to come, it will bring back many pleasant memories.
