Nev Kid In Tovn So. Bo. Co. was honored with the presence of Hitomi Kunugi from Vamanashi Japan. She was a foreign exchange student. She found life over here much different but also fun. In Japan, Hitomi played the piano starting at age four. She performed here for the NHS initiation. Hitomi also drew various pictures that could be seen throughout the year and was voted most artistic in the senior class. While over here she enjoyed many American customs. In school she participated in choir, Pep Club, Spanish, FBLA, and was voted Miss Sweetheart at the Valentines Dance. First semester Hitomi stayed with Mr. Mrs. Ronnie White. Second semester she stayed with Mr. Mrs. Lahmen Wren. J

Tragedy The fire that hit Ashland will long be remembered by the So. Bo. Co. students. It was a trying time for all involved. Trucks from Columbia as well as Ashland and Hartsburg battled the blaze throughout the night.
