In a small school such as ours, the students get to know one another better than in a large school. Without knowing it, we all become, in some way, our brother's keeper. But do we do enough? We smile, but do we mean it? Is there feeling behind the smile? We listen, but do we hear? Much too often, we get so involved with our own lives and our own problems that we forget the problems of others. God never meant for us to forget everyone else. He would rather have us lift the blindfolds from our eyes and reach out to help our fellow man. a

senior class history Sixty-nine Freshmen entered the halls of AHS in August, 1969. Lenny Lenger was chosen President; Byron Klemme, Vice-President; Deb- bie Hudson, Secretary-Treasurer; and Dieter Lapello and John Sappington, Student Council Representatives. Class sponsors were Mrs. Howitt and Mr. Brashear. Byron Klemme and Donna Anderson were selected Mr. and Miss AJHS. Debbie Hudson represented us at Home- coming and Judy Cohoon at Bamwarmin'. Our Sophomore year came quickly and with it the election of new officers. The chosen leaders were John Sappington, President; Steve Morton, Vice-President; Roxann Jeffery, Secretary-Treas- urer; John Crane and Byron Klemme, Student Council Representatives. Mr. Farris and Mrs. Froese, as our sponsors, guided us through the year. We selected J.R. Basinger and Gloria Nichols for our AHS candidates. We were proud to have Paula Perkins represent us at Homecom- ing and Roxann Jeffery at Bamwarmin'. In 1971, the Juniors selected as our officers: John Crane, President; Byron Klemme, Vice-President; and Paula Perkins, Secretary-Treasurer. Our sponsors were Mrs. Batha, Mrs. Bullard, and Mr. Harper. John Sappington and Donna Walls were our chosen AHS candidates, and John was elected Mr. AHS. Pam Day held the position of Homecom- ing Candidate. Donna Anderson was our candidate for Bamwarmin' Queen. Mrs. Tichenor and Mrs. Bullard did an outstanding job of directing the Junior Play, OUR TOWN which helped the class finance the prom. The theme for the prom was Dixieland Memories, and Dusty Foot provided the music for the dance. One of the biggest events of the year for us was when we received our class rings. We felt we were now offically seniors.
