Seldom does a school have a student who is a born leader. Steve is that type of person. He led his class in the 11th grade to achieve many goals and his Senior year his leadership has engulfed not only the Senior Class but the whole student body. Spiritually, he loves the Lord and uses this as a guide for his daily lite. Socially, he loves to be with people and help them all he can. He is an encourager to everyone. S , for the title of Miss S.B.E.C. Not only is Robin ranked second in her class with a grade point average of 3.971, but her list of accomplishments both social and academic are overwhelming. lt is obvious to her peers and teachers alike that Robin is a truly remarkable lady and a valuable asset to us here at I Y obin is an extraordinary young lady and an outstanding choice S.B.E.C. The Bible says in Luke 2:52 that our Lord Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Throughout her years at S.B.E.C., Robin has proved this verse true in her own life. Robin has grown and matured physically as well as academically throughout her years at S.B.E.C., while at the same time growing in the favor of her peers and her Lord. ,ei ffl' ' enrfer Moseley de- serves the trtle ' Best christian Witness because of her loving and caring spirit. The title Best Christian Wit- ness best describes Sheri Stricklin because she is always encouraging and portrays her convictions through her school activities and personal life. Sheri has been a light to follow among her classmates. om Cunningham was chosen Class Favorite because of his leadership ability and his friendship to his classmates. He is also a favorite on campus because of his participation on the football team and as a member of the S Club. Greg Hammons is indeed one of God's precious jewels! Not only has Greg been blessed with a good mind. he has also been privileged with athletic talent and ieadership skills as well. His four-year cumulative grade point, average of 4.000 and his being named co-salutatorian are honors that are richly de- served. Greg has never taken the easy way out in school. He has maintained these high standards while taking all the advancedfhonors courses that SBEC has to offer. And all this while taking an active role in SBEC leadership as well. His senior year alone has been occupied as the president of the Student Council, vice-president of the Nationai Honor Society, a varsity basketball team member, and a maior cast member of this year's school production ot Brigadoon. All this, coupled with handling a part-time job, exemplifies the truly outstanding job that Greg has accomplished. her studies and class work she has earned the Saluta- torian award for the 1986- 87 Senior Class. We look forward to hearing great things about Robin as she enters college and chooses her vocation. She will rep- resent SBEC well in what- ever she does. His talents and abilities are numerous. In the area of athletics, Wayne participated in football for two years. He excelled in wrestling by earning a district award his freshman year. Wayne's determi- nation also extends into the area of leadership. He was selected tenth grade vice-president, a member of the student council for two years and chosen treasurer his senior year. ln the area of fine arts, Waynes artistic ability, which is outstanding, granted him the Art lll award. llcademically, he earned one of the top ten positions in his graduating class and a place in the National Honor Society. Most im- portant of all, Wayne's contribution to SBEC has been his daily walk with Jesus. Steve Pattonls selection for the Hall of Fame was inevitable. The combination of talents, abilities, and character which God brought into being in Steve Patton made that choice certain. Steve not only possess out- standing intellectual ability but also has a dynamic personality with the desire to accept responsibility and leadership position. Steve has been president of his lunior and Senior class. He was Valedictorian of his class, selected as Most Outstanding in his Junior year and Mr. SBEC in his senior year. Steve has been an Honor Society member throughout high school and participated in math and chemistry tournaments at MSU. Steve also participated in football, basketball, and Drama club. Steve has been a credit to his school, a leader among his fellow students and a JOY to his teachers. W Caring quiet, efficient, and lovely dis- position are just a few of the attri- butes which describe Holly Conner. Her willingness to serve as an office assistant during her junior and senior years has given me an opportunity to watch her as she quietly accomplishes the varied tasks in the office without being reminded. She has been a mem- ber of the National Honor Society for three years and has served as a tutor for students needing help in academic classes. Academic honors she had earned include the Spanish I Award in the ninth grade, the French I and English Award in tenth grade, and the Algebra ll and Economics Award in the eleventh grade. During her senior year she has been a member of the Senior Girls Club and has served on the Advi- sory Committee of the Career Club. Holly is a precious young lady whose Christian life is an example to all. Sheri Stricklin, a deserving recipient of this year's Hall of Fame, has an excellent grade point average of 3.5. Sheri is very active in school activities and she does a great job in everything of which she is apart. Sheri is serving as co-captain of the cheerleaders, and she has been on the varsity squad for two years. She was the class secretary her junior year, and is the senior class secretary. Her interest in drama was reflected because she is a member of the Drama Club, and she was in the cast of Brladoon. Not only has Sheri participated in many school activi- ties, she is also active in church and serving others. She was a member of the Christian Service Club during her freshman and sophomore years, and she was voted by her classmates as Best Christian Witness. Sheri is an active member of Broadway Baptist Church, and enjoys singing in the girls ensemble. Under the direction of Captain Holly Bean and Co-Captain Sheri Stricklin, the girls began their season by winning the overall Award of Excellence at cheer- leading camp and being invited to the NCA National Championship in Orlando. The girls have done an outstanding job. The responsibilities of a cheerleader are planning pep rallies, cheering at games and keeping up student spirit, the cheerleaders have taken on a ministry of encouragement to each of the ball players in each sport per season. They encour- age them through notes and special gifts each week before the games. The cheerleaders are a vital part of the student life here at S.B.E.C. and I am proud to be associated with them. Besides his family, one of his real loves in life is camping. He strickly enjoys the beauty of God's outdoors. There are many qualities that describe Paul Young - a loving husband and father, a man of great wisdom, a strong decision maker - but perhaps the greatest thing that can be said about him is that he is one of the most godly persons I know. He does not just talk about it: he lives it. Nelllta Young BOARD AND When I was rn the 5th grade SBEC got a new secretary Her name was Shirley Middleton and from what I heard she was a pretty fast typer. She worked long hard hours and I ought to know because she s my MOM and I had to wait until she finished working to go home. I really don't know what to say about her as a secretary, I only know her as MOM and I LOVE HER! Paul Anthony Middleton Nellrta H Young is a loving wife a wonderful mother an understanding helpmate one of the most outstanding Christians I have ever known and my best friend In my opinion this is the best description that I could give of my wife and your guidance counselor at SBEC. She is a dedicated professional who ADMINISTRATION loves her students and is committed to es- tablishing a Godly home. Proverbs 12:4 says, A virtuous woman is a crown to her hus- band . . . No man has a more beautiful crown. Paul Young I I lt takes a very special, hardworking person to be a school p secretary. One who is willing to answer the phone, type, and do all kinds of secretarial work. This very special person in our school is Mrs. Sartain. Mrs. Sartain is kind, loving and always willing to help. She is very much devoted to her work and is always there when needed. RIIOIKIINQK The sound of Mr. Manley's deep voice strikes terror in the hearts of some, but few realize that he also has a deep heart. He is kind and has a warm sense of humor. He cares lor students and always willing to listen to our problems. His teslimoney is truly inspira- tional. Mr. Manley is a man that we can all look up to.
