DEDICATION The Southerner Staff dcditates this annual to Mrs. Pearl C. Tippitt, Professor of Social Scicnce. Her long hours of instruction have and shall cominue to prove indeed helpful to those students studying the courses which she teaches in such a marvelous manner. Her obligations are many-sponsor of Student Council and sponsor of the Senior Class, but she still has a few moments to spare for the studemy benefit.

We, The Southerner Staff, have worked hard to publish this year- book. Each effort has had to be checked and double checked. Now it is in your hands. There will be a number of errors, but before you complain we ask you to say to yourself, Would I have done better? Some names will be wrong, someone will be left out. It is not our intention to overlook any one but various con- ditions have been responsible. The staff and others have worked together for this publication. We are late getting it out because of the fire and other disruptions, but here it is May each annual be a bigger and better one from year to year.
