To be a member of the Beta Club, one must reach and maintain a ninety average, be a member of the rising junior or senior class, and must possess qualities of leadership, citizenship, character, and scholarship. The purposes of the Beta Club are to reward achievement, to stimulate effort, and to en- courage and assist its members to continue their education after high school. One of the projects in which the Beta Club has participated this year was White Christmas. They, along with the Student Council, carried out this project so that needy families could be provided with a happier Christmas. The combined chorus consists of approxi- mately 220 singers who divide into four separate groups: the mixed chorus, the girls ' chorus, and two ensemble groups known as the Southern Belles and the Southern Sons. Each year the Chorus par- ticipates in two annual events: the Christmas concert and the Spring concert.
