There are things abour college we will never understand. Things we cannot even seem fo cope with. When we're confronted with an overwhelming bill and don't know whar fo do. When loans, worls-study, and grants require more paper work, figures, and signatures fhan we can deal with. Who will helo us through these, and find a way fo meer our financial obligations? Laurel Wells, you have worked with many of us and helped us over countless, insurmountable obstacles. You have calmed our fears with your genuine concern in our problems and worked with endless patience with any student in need. Your empathy and compassion, com- bined with your exceptional abilities have been an over- whelming blessing to each one of us here. Laurel Wells There are other things we will never understand. The array of cognate courses, pre-requisites, and general requirements seem fo tangle underneath our frustrated determination. A though, a tribute to those who by their mere attendance have | made this school a richer and better place to be. | A tribute to the unique contributions each one of us has made. Throughout the course of our daily routines, we have etched | ourselves into the very walls of this college; learning, living, | growing. | Somewhere in the midst of presented philosophies and theories, |they have become our own. And from behind the trials thrown across our way, we have emerged berrer, wiser and stronger. | Berween classes and homework, we’ve managed to squeeze in |rhose trios to town where we shopped, ate, and tried nor to ON Cs te | ie, baie ee hl jsepend more than we had. We have laughed with each other ie shared smiles, ideas, dreams ... a part of ourselves. Together we have failed quizzes, passed finals, shared candy bar milkshakes and complained abour the food. And there have been quier moments too; talking with God in search for an answer and confiding in friends the secret hopes and fears of our soul. Next year there will be others to fill our places, though no one can fit perfectly within the molds we have all shaped. And the molds will change as the newcomers shrug their shoulders about inside, and the school will change as students come and go. Bur a place cannor change if it never existed, and ideas cannot be changed if they were never formed. And this is whar we have done. Created our own special school for our own special years. Changes and ideas thar will never disappear until we are com- plerely gone. :
