A Cover Of Memories “The Southland.” When Southern Junior College’s first annual came out in 1923, the Southland staff printed an explanation of the purpose of the book. “The purpose of The Southland is to represent Collegedale to the students, both present and ” prospective, and to the friends and patrons of this institution In 1938, when Southern Junior College changed the name of its yearbook to “The Triangle’, an introduction explained why .. . . The triangle is the most stable of all forms. The circle is easily dented, the square can be crushed ... but the triangle can withstand great strain. Southern Junior College stands for a triangular education ... the physical, mental, and spiritual phases of lite ... a three-fold preparation ... 1944 changed Southern Junior College to Southern Missionary College, and “The Triangle” | became “Southern Memories”, a name which according to the 1945 yearbook staff... “so aptly meets the ideal of the yearbook of our school in the Southland.” | Today, as Southern College S.D.A., we've undergone another change. Our yearbook 1s still Southern Memories, a book that remembers the past and looks forward to the future.
