For this reason he will never be forgotten. He was an excellent Student Coun- cil Advisor, showing us that we should be at all times fair. As a Social Studies teacher he always proved to be a fair and honest instructor. For these reasons we the class of 1972 do hereby dedicate the 1972 Invictus to the memory of Mr. James D. Goodwin. 4 In other years, I have referred to the fact that Southeast- ern was a new school with many experiences to encounter and traditions to develop. With the graduation of the Class of 1972, it should be noted that our school has completed five full school years. Experiences hove been encountered; tradition is being developed. In many ways we have accom- plished in five years goals which other schools hove had sev- enty-five or more years to achieve. The success which Southeastern is enjoying is without question due in large part to the conscientious effort, ser- iousness of purpose and dedication to values of our stu- dents. We expect that the contribution to Southeastern ' s ex- perience and tradition made by the Class of 1 972 will signif- icantly determine the role of the school in years to come. The contribution of the Class of 1 972 to these factors is notable. I congratulate you and wish you the best of good fortune in the years to come. I SECONtySRV PROGRAMS Congratulations, Seniors, upon the successful completion of your high school career. The high educational level that has been attained during the past five years at Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical School was in a large part due to the conscientious efforts of a dedicated student body to which the Class of 1972 made many significant contribu- tions. In this day of uncertainty, inrest and continual change, you are indeed fortunate to have the solid basis of a sound vocational training upon which to build your future. Again, my congratulations for a job well done. 6 ROBERT MAGNJER AC«DE UIC COORDIIMATOR WlLUm McOONNEU. TECHNtCAL eUPERVtSOR JOWNJ WE 19 Mark Denneno Jack Donahue David L. Dovell Lawrence C. Twenty-six schools participated in the convention. The opening assembly consisted of the welcoming of all the students and advisors and the introduction of the steering committee; Mr. Graves, supt.; Mr. Bum- pus, principal; and Mr. Collard, Mr. Watson, and Mr. Mozzarella, advisors, by Mike Heck, Co-chairman of the steering committee. Senator Jack Quinlan was the main speaker. He captured the attention of all present with his speech concerning recognition of responsibilities which go hand in hand with the new found rights of young peo- ple. After Luncheon was served, the young group broke up into 10 discussion groups. Each group was as- signed a topic relating to the theme of the convention: Vocational Education: Growth, Ideas, and Relation- ships. A closing assembly was held and a few words of thanks were delivered by Jack Donahue, President of Southeastern ' s Student Council, to the memory of Mr. Goodwin for his work in preparing for the convention. 68 69 First Row, L-R: E.
