Spirit Leaders Throughout the year it was the job of the cheerleaders and mascot Bill Tsoodle to promote spirit, at both pep as- semblies and sporting events. Jamie Kidd, Lynda Monks, Bonnie Plummer and Karen Watson were slected in the fall of 1970. Four new cheerleaders were added to the squad at the beginning of the spring semester. They were Cindy Ca- ter, Areta Davis, .Ian Shaffer and Stephanie Thomas. The long hours of practice paid off at the games. Mascot Bill Tsoodle added his talents to those of the cheerleading squad and kept spectators in awe as he did his Indian dances at the games. i c r ' I rtr Cheerleaders STANDING, LEFT TO RIGHT, are Karen Watson, Cindy Cater, Stephanie Thomas, Bonnie Plummer, Jan Shaffer and Areta Davis. Student Senate Headed by Sigma Tau Gamma member Dwight Nuckolls, the Student Senate's main goal is to work for the students of Southeastern State College. Student Sentate's main activity was the spon- soring of the Guess Who , a leading rock group. The group held a concert in the SSC field house February 23. Other activities were the Friendship Fire and Leadership conference. Senate meets every Thursday night in the presi- dential room with sponsors, Katie Slack, Dean of Women and Dr. John Krattiger, Dean of Students. Lana Howl, Raymond Chancellor, and Joe Anderson give new ideas to president Dwight Nuckolls. l sl Jody Doxee work together to help all students. Teresa Akers, Bill Johnson, .lim Stone, and Paula Newell take part ln Senate discussions. 155
