DOCTOR JOSEPH L. DRISCOLL PRESIDENT The college years for the members of the class of 1967 have contained many periods of extraordinary challenge. This is true, in large measure, due to the fact that your attendance at SMTI coincided with many of the major events and crises which are an inherent part of the transition the Institution has been and still moving through. To your class, as well as the few classes preceding and following it, this has meant confrontation with difficul- ties and inconveniences not usually a part of the academic world's regular pat-tem. The manner in which the members of the class of 1967 accepted these unusual obstacles and faced and overcame them should forever be to all of you a prideful memory. As is the case in all human endeavor, when individuals or groups are challenged by extraordinary difficulties and meet those challenges successfully, they are the better and the stronger for the experience. The many contributions the members of the class of 1967 have made to the successful development of SMTI will long be remembered by me per- sonally and by all of my colleagues on the faculty. In extending this message of congratulations to you on the successful completion of your program of studies, I want you to know that I have great confidence in your future, a confidence based on how splendidly you met your responsibilities during the past four years of campus life.
