Election Time Come on in, everybody, it ' s hootenanny time! In September the students at Southeastern High School devote their time and energy to the election of a president and vice pres- tdent to guide them through the activities of the year. Cooperation and democracy are generated through the spirit of the election. 60 Coach congratulates the victors. One more class to count

Traditions . . . Enthusiasm , . . Loyalty . . . Service . . . Unity These separate words are joined together to form the spirit of South- eastern High School. There are a great many traditions at Southeastern. One of them is the Daisy Chain Ceremony that is per- formed every year atSeniorDay. The daisy chain symbolizes the traditions of Southeastern High School. The senior girls carry in the daisy chain and present it to the junior girls so that they can cmrry on the traditions. The junior girls give the senior girls a lighted candle to guide them in their search for knowledge. Enthusiasm is found in every thing the students participate in. The spirit at the student body elections, Fresh- man Day, and basketball games are just a few examples of the boundless enthusiasm of Southeastern High stu- dents. Loyalty is a quality that is ex- pressed in many different ways. There is the loyalty to friends, to classmates, and above aU to Southeastern High School. Each student serves the school, his friends, and his classmates in many small ways each day. The consoling pep talk when things look bad can be just as important as all the work on the prom and on scenery for the play. The feeling of unity at South- eastern is a natural one. The school being small, the students feel like part of one, big, happy family.
