VOCAL MUSIC At the first meeting of the Girls oiee Club the follow- ing officers were elected: President, Norma O'Dell5 Vice- President, Evangeline Preston: Secretary-Treasurer, Helen Hart, Reporter, Hildred Hinnixg Librarians, Audrey Maple, Evelyn Fairchild, Georgia Tackett, and Jayne Hunley. At the first meeting of the Boys Glee Club the follow- ing officers were elected, President, Jack Bruno: Vicr-Presi- dent, Bob White: Secretary-Treasurer, Bill Barrows: Reporten Nea1fFrench. As everyone knows music plays a large part in school activities. This year the music groups have participated in many large performances, such as: The Farmers Institute, Christmas Cantata, Spring Concert, and County Festival. We are very grateful to our leaders, Mrs. Shenault and Hrs. Brown, and to our accompanist, Joyce Wiltshire. BAND There are S7 members in band and orchestra this year under the direction of Hrs. Yargaret Brown since the induct- ion of Ur. J. M. Day into the army. The band has played at basketball games, Spring Festival, -nd the band and orch- estra played at the Community Institute. Ten of the band members participated in the South,Central Resional Orchestra on Earch 3, 1951. Cne new instrument, the baritone, was bought by the school this year. Those playing trumpets are: June Crago, Jean Hearth, Jacquelyn Peecher, Linda fueen, Cale Peecher, Charles Carpen and Jay Hess. Clarinets: Janet Caywood, Lois Barnes, were Creachbaum, Joyce Wiltshire, Karjorie Tucker, Doris Vollmar, Kay Hibbler, Refer Swaney, G. T. Wright, and ialph Woods. Trombone: George Mavis and Jlarence Leach. Flute: Peggy Carper. Baritone: Henry Riddle. Bass: David Climer. Saxo- phone: Patty O'Dell, Dorthea Bolte, and Evelyn French. Alto horns: Virginia Ratcliff and Carl Jones. Drums: Audrey -aple, Phyllis Creachbaum, and Ann Scott. Cymbals: Jane Pembleton. The orchestra players are: Violin: Phyllis Creachbaum, Virginia Ratcliff, Joyce Wiltshire, James Bowers, James Wood- ring, Lamar Riley, and Mack Wlam. Viola: Joh Kimbler. Bass Viol: Dave 'Vhite. Flute: Peggy Carper. Clarinets: Kay Hibbler, Hary Vcllmar, and Clara Easterday. Trumpets: Linda Queen and Gale Peecher. Baritone: Henry Riddle. Bass Horns Dave Climer. Saxophone: Patty O'Dell, Dorthea Bolte, and Evelyn French. Drums: Clarence Leach, Ann Scott, and Jane Pembleton. Alto horns: Carl Jones and James Thacker. Trom- bone: Benny Meeker.
