':Ifg.'f. -.'-.-:Y: I , , , - ,.... -., , ...... ,.-.4.,.,.....T-+ 1 SEVENTH GRADE The class officers of the Seventh grade are: President, James Wiltshire, Vice President, Angeline Walker, Secretary, Patricia Topping, Reporter, Jean Locke, Treasurer, Roma Drake, Advisors, Miss DeHays and Miss Behm. There were several boys on the Junior High basketball team. They were as follows: Jimmy Wiltshire, Bobby Mavis, Bob Pool, Richard Manson, Buster Lawhorn, Bobby Ogan, and Jimmy Brown. The class assembly was held on October 20, 1950. Songs and recitations were features of the program. The Seventh and Eighth grades will have a class picnic in May. In March group pictures were taken for the annual and also individual pictures were taken. The Seventh graders were sorry to lose Mrs. Flickinger, but were glad to welcome Miss Behm. The Junior High School chorus sang at the Farmer's Institute, and the Spring Concert. F.T.A.AmmM.Mms The Horace Mann Chapter of the Future Teachers of Amer- ica club met on September 19, 1950. Thirteen new members met with the eleven old members and our advisors, Mr. Wagner and Mr. Cottrill. The officers elected were: President, Audrey Mapleg Vice President, Barbara Leasureg Secretary, Norma Jean Knis- leyg Treasurer, John Kimblerg Reporter, Shirley Crumg His- torian, Jane Pembletong and Song Leader, Barbara 'Leasure. The White carnation was chosen as the club flower, pink and blue for the colors and the motto, UStudents Today, Teachers Tomorrow.U The formal initiation was held during November, and each member received a white carnation. After the install- ation of officers, the speaker, Mr. A. E. Gower, County Superintendent, was introduced by Mr. Cottrill. During the year we have discussed many experiences of being teachers, the preparation for becoming teachers, and many of the problems of being teachers. Ten Freshmen are in baud. They are Marjorie Tucker, if?-Z Peggy Carper, Jane Pembleton, Phyllis Creachbamn, Ann Scott, David Climer, Henry Riddle, Gale Peecher, Jay Hess, 'and -.Zi5,Z,: Clarence Leach. There are also eleven members of the class in the or- chestra. They are Peggy Car-per, Jane Pembleton, Phyllis il.-3 Creachbaum, Ann Scott, Henry Riddle, Gale Peecher, James 3355? Bowers, Javid Climer, Jimmy Woodring, Hack Slam, and Clar- ence Leach. Qflfff The Freshman class is proud of its basketball players. The boys who played the ,games so valiantly are: N Raymond Foole, David Climer, Donald Barrow, Mack lilam, and -John Mall. Ramond Poole also played on the softball team. ifzfffff An assembly presented by the class was held on February f'f3:,fff' lb. A play, Too Many Cooks Spoiled the Soup, a ,girls :nusical group, several solos, and a boy's musical group pro- vided the entertainment for the student body. -:-.55 EICHITH GRADE The officers of the Eighth Grade are President, Virginia Ratcliffg Vice-President, Lamar Riley, Secretary, Vera Creachbaumg Treasurer, Kay Stevens 5 Reporter, Linda Queen. The class assembly was given in .-Iovesnber. It consistai :f..t5g of a play Proposal by Proxy, the Gettysburg Address, an instrumental trio, tivo piano solos , and a musical play. The boys on the Junior 111521 team were 'Captain Lamar Riley, Dick Lan5land, Bob I'-Tiles, Ted iustin, Billy Diehl, Buster hawhorn, and Don Thompson. The Junior High Cheer- 5.-3,55 leaders who were elected this year were Vera Greachhaum, Joyce Brown, Tessann Cooper , and Judy nluntz.
