Marco and Giuseppe who, blindfolded, secure Tessa and Gianetta for their brides. As they dance off a gondola arrives with the Spanish Duke, Duchess Casilda and Luiz to have audience with the Grand Inquisitor. Casilda is told she was married when an infant to the infant son of the King of Bfarataria who, when a child, was stolen and taken to Venice. The Inouisitor announces that the husband is a gondolier--and meeting Marco and Giuseppe decides that one or the other of them is the new King. In the meantime he sends for the old nurse who can settle the matter. In the second act the two gondoliers are in' krataria, reigning jointly, also much distressed' because of the loss of their wives, when the Contadine arrive with Tessa and Giannetta. They are invited to a banquet and ball, but the Grand Inquisitor inter- rupts to say the Duke, Duchess and Casilda have arrived. The nurse is brought in and declares-the real King. , 'ii' e ' - Ninety-five 1 ll ll IQl:SlCRX'li Ul'IfR '79 I y-six IUYS' CILICIC fill 'l'RIiI1T.Ii L'I.Iil L'l,L'l5 P1'CSidCl1I ...... , ...................... livtty blanc Muclmlcr Yice-I'1'L-siclcllt . . . , .... We can get plenty of stenographers and 'book- keepers--capable ones, too. They are all right for the work for which they have been trained, but they do not understand organization and management, and their limited education makes it impossible for them to assume execu- tive duties. Nowadays when an executive engages an assistant he know that soon he shall have a. better position at a larger salary, and he wants the young person he selects to be ready for that better position when it develops. He is looking around and considering his future requirements. Consequently, he exercises the greatest care in choosing young men and women for his organization, knowing that they will develop into the executives of the future. A fundamental knowledge of business principles and administrative methods has become the key which unlocks the door to the choicest oppor- tunlties, and the commercial training institution giving executive courses of university grade in Business Administration is the logical place for such training. There the science of business is stripped of all its frills and furbelows and taught in a practical, business-like way by practical business men and women. The young man or woman who takes an executive course at such an institution will enter the business world with a thorough knowledge of busi- ness fundamentals and a clear understanding of the administrative duties of a successful organization. He will be a potential executive, and will have responsibilities, opportunities and promotion thrust upon him. D. B. U.
