Located on U.S. 74-76 business between Whiteville and Chadbourn, SC C,' while' surrounded by rural comunities, is within 50 miles of the Atlantic Coast and such major cities as Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, As one of North Carolina's'largest and fastest growing community colleges, SCC serves overp6000 students annually in college transfer, vocational, and adult educational programs. While students are top priority, the college serves its community- well with various services, including counseling, women,s centerf Resources for Student Leaming, and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. SCC attracts students largely from the su-rrounding counties of Columbus, Bladen, Brunswick, Robeson, and New H-anoverg but, stu- dents 'from such diverse areas as New York, the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and even Iran, are not uncommon.
